Profile:

Since 2017, I have been a qualified voluntary member of the University’s Coaching and Mentoring Academy (Qualification – ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring) and happy to Mentor and Coach on any subject (please also see UoL Coaching Profile).  At the University I predominately Coach, but have mentored in-house new starters and in-house team members i.e. craftsperson’s changing roles from a trade to a technical more admin focused position, Technicians undertaking degree apprenticeships, sustainability Interns on future career development/admin functions and processes and currently supporting a members of the Grounds Maintenance Team to explore other roles within Estates and Campus Services i.e. within Maintenance and Health and Safety. I usually start mentoring and then focus more on Coaching to enable the individuals to take ownership of their own goals.  I have also found that the skills I have learnt in achieving my ILM Level 3 in Leadership and Management and OCR Level 3 in Assessing NVQ Candidates (A1) have been useful in both mentoring and coaching and the types of support and questions I ask, including support given to members of the ECS Directorate and their wider Teams.
