Profile:

I’m a Personal Assistant who provides support to a Director within Transport for West Midlands and has 20+ years’ experience in the administration profession. I’ve worked my way through a variety of job roles, starting as an apprentice learning everything which has helped me to reach my current role.

I have a passion for learning, especially if it results in me being able to provide better support to my boss and colleagues, and I am always willing to share my knowledge and experience with others in order to help them succeed.  A major aspect of my role involves managing the inbox and diary, which I love – it allows me to keep my boss’s schedule and incoming email well organised, additionally I’m continuously learning new shortcuts and more efficient management techniques to improve the support I provide. Being organised means I have to be efficient with time management, this is something I try to practice on a daily basis and attend regular webinars to help me manage my time
effectively.

I strongly believe mentoring is a valuable asset in any profession and at any career stage.  Having someone to bounce ideas off, vent to, or seek help from can make you feel supported and confident in reaching your goals. For me, being a mentor is not just about adding value for
the mentee, it’s a learning experience for both.
